(Colorado Springs, CO) – After a 2nd place finish overall in 2020, Paul Dallenbach returns to Pikes Peak once again for the 99th Running of The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Presented by Grand Turismo. Dallenbach’s finish, a mere .6 seconds behind first place and the top 4 finishers were separated by only 2 seconds.

Coming off of a successful finish in 2020, Dallenbach and his crew will get the chance to settle in and prepare for race week at the upcoming test session on the mountain, June 5th and 6th. “The team headed up by David and Bud Hoffpauir, have been working hard over the winter to improve the car” stated Dallenbach. “Last year we were a little behind due to my neck surgery a few months before race.  Changing to a V6 twin turbo last year was a big move without testing; we feel we are much further ahead this year over last.”

Dallenbach has set his sights on once again winning the Open Wheel Class and the Pikes Peak Challenge. “The field this year is deep, with at least 10 cars in several classes racing for overall honors. Our goal, as always, is breaking the Open Wheel record and finishing top 5 overall,” added Dallenbach.

Dallenbach’s appearance this year at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is made possible through his sponsors; Alpine Banks, Crosley Brands, Goebel Construction, Rock Valley Oil & Chemical (RVO), Hoosier Racing Tires, Evolve Lubricants, Sign Edge, Race Central Media, and Project Daytona. “We are fortunate to have sponsors who are so generous and into racing, actively participating in our race preparation,” remarks Dallenbach.

About the Race - The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is the second oldest motor sports race in America - Only the Indianapolis 500 is older - and a longstanding tradition in Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region. First competed in 1916, this year marks the 98th running of the "Race to the Clouds." The running of the race will take place on Sunday, June 30th with race related events during the preceding week. The infamous race is run on a 12.42 mile course with 156 turns that begins at 9,390 feet and finish at the 14,110 foot summit of America’s Mountain – where America the Beautiful was penned - Pikes Peak! As the gutsy drivers climb toward the summit, the thin air slows reflexes and saps physical muscle strength. The thin air - two miles above sea level - also robs engines of 30% of their power at the summit. Competitors and vehicles must be in top shape simply to finish...let alone win!

The race week kicks off on Monday June 21st, with Technical Inspection at The Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs. The race can be seen live on the official Mobil 1 Facebook Page on June 27th. There is no other racecourse in the world like the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. It attracts race crews that are willing to spend several hundred thousand dollars and months of preparation to compete for the right to be the King of the Mountain.
